Dele Alli left Everton at the end of 2024 to start a new chapter in Italy.
Cesc Fabregas’s Como signed Dele on a contract running until the summer of 2026 and it had the option of a further year based on appearances or availability.
However, having made just one appearance for the Italian outfit, in a game in which he received a straight red card, he has now been released.
The former Everton playmaker, who made 13 appearances for the club, is now being linked with a return to England.
Here are the three Championship clubs battling to land his signature.

Former Everton star Dele Alli wanted by Championship trio
Como and Dele released a joint statement earlier this month, which explained why the 29-year-old was leaving almost a year before his contract expiry.
“Dele is keen to secure regular playing opportunities and, as he was not part of the club’s immediate plans, both parties felt it was the right decision to part ways ahead of the transfer window closing.

“The club thanks Dele for his time at Como and wishes him the very best for the future.”
Dele is clearly desperate to play regularly and according to the Daily Mail, there are three Championship clubs queuing up for his signature.
Birmingham City, Wrexham and West Bromwich Albion are all thought to be frontrunners for the 37-cap England international.
All three have ambitions to gain promotion to the Premier League, and West Brom are actually second in the table at the moment.
Dele Alli’s World Cup goal
Speaking to Como’s media team in April, Dele revealed that he still has ambitions to get back into the England squad and feature at the World Cup next summer.
“I’m definitely not done yet. I’m a very ambitious person. I’m hungrier than I have ever been. It’s been two years of difficult times for me, where I have learned a lot and had to grow.
“I’m a big believer in everything happening for a reason, and I think my purpose is to come here now and to exceed what I have done already.
“I don’t think that any challenge or anything that I put as my goal or ambition is too high to reach. I think I’ve made it clear before that one of my closest goals is to be in the squad for the next World Cup in 2026. That is still my aim.”
Let’s hope Dele can get back to his best at his next club, as interest continues to mount in his signature.
