From Brazil: Manchester United exit and return home taking shape

Casemiro’s future at Manchester United is already being discussed in Brazil, with journalist [**Jorge Nicola**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=yQEjheF3UB9kJk7i&v=rJreLKa6X6A&feature=youtu.be) reporting that Flamengo and Palmeiras are keeping a close eye on his situation.

The midfielder, now 33, has a contract with the Red Devils until the middle of next year, which would make him a free agent right after the World Cup in North America.

Nicola explained that it is “practically impossible” to imagine Casemiro leaving Old Trafford before his deal runs out, given his current salary of around €11m per year (£9.4m). Still, the expectation is that this will be his final season in England before heading back to South America.

Flamengo and Palmeiras are said to be studying the case, but São Paulo could play a decisive role. The midfielder has never hidden his gratitude for the club that developed him, and that connection may weigh heavily when it comes to a decision.

There’s also the Saudi factor. Nicola pointed out that Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr could come in with offers even bigger than what Casemiro already earns at Manchester United. That would leave Brazilian clubs far behind in financial terms, though the player’s age and career earnings could open the door to a return home.

For now, Casemiro is gearing up for what looks like his last campaign in Manchester. Where he goes next – back to São Paulo, into the hands of Flamengo or Palmeiras, or chasing the big money in Saudi Arabia – is the kind of storyline that will keep bubbling until the World Cup is over.
