Get rid: Saudi clubs readying offers to sign £200,000-a-week Man Utd star, it's time to cash in …

Manchester United star Harry Maguire has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the coming months, with reports suggesting that clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in securing his services for their defensive ranks - and given his current contract situation and age, it's a deal that the Red Devils should accept in order to bring as much capital into the club as possible.

The report by CaughtOffside states that Maguire is once again at the centre of transfer speculation - and this time, it's from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Nassr - home to Red Devils legend Cristiano Ronaldo - and Al-Nassr 'monitoring' his situation closely.

The England star is set to see his contract expire at the end of the season, though United reportedly have an option to extend that through until the summer of 2026.

A number of high-profile English stars have made the move to Saudi Arabia since its huge boom this decade, including Ivan Toney and Jordan Henderson - whilst high-profile stars such as Ronaldo, N'Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino have also plied their trade there.

It's seen Maguire touted for a move to the Middle East if a Saudi club can make an offer of around £12.5million (€15million) for his services, which could persuade United to offload the former Leicester City star, given that he's behind other players in the pecking order.

Adding Maguire to their defensive line would shore up their defensive ranks, allowing their forward players to flourish further by remaining on the front foot - and as a player with international experience as well as a likely huge payday, it could appeal to the Sheffield-born star.

Harry Maguire in action for Manchester United

If clubs from the Saudi Pro League do make the bid, then it would be the ideal time to cash in for Maguire on United's behalf.

The Red Devils already have top young talents coming through at centre-back in the form of Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven, as well as Matthijs de Ligt only being 26 years of age, and Lisandro Martinez being 27, United are set for quite some time at the back.

Maguire is on £200,000-a-week himself at Old Trafford, which is a high wage for someone who primarily looks to be a squad player at United. At the age of 32, landing a fee in the region of £12.5million for his services could be their last chance to cash in, especially with his contract dwindling at the Red Devils.

If they don't entertain a bid, then Maguire would be 33 at the end of the campaign with one year left on his deal, and his huge wages could see United become desperate to offload him, putting them out of the driving seat for his signature.

Maguire has been a superb servant for United, despite facing criticism for his performances. In fairness, he has been one of their more consistent players in an undeniably poor period for the Red Devils, and his exit will see him missed, but it would signal a great business decision.
