PFF grades are live: NFL Week 1

While Dak Prescott’s final stat line — fewer than 200 passing yards — looks modest, drops from his receivers left plenty of production on the field. His 86.1 PFF passing grade reflects that. With four big-time throws, Prescott tied for second in the NFL in that category in Week 1.

Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren delivered an impressive all-around performance in his NFL debut. His 90.4 overall PFF grade ranked second among all tight ends in Week 1. He caught seven of his nine targets for 76 yards and added value as a run blocker, earning an 88.6 grade.

Philadelphia Eagles 24, Dallas Cowboys 20

The Cowboys came out strong but let this one slip away late. Los Angeles Chargers 27, Kansas City Chiefs 21

Joe Alt’s transition to left tackle is off to a strong start. The second-year lineman anchored the Chargers’ front in Week 1 against Chris Jones and the Chiefs, earning a league-best 91.4 PFF pass-blocking grade. He didn’t allow a single pressure across 43 pass-blocking snaps.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23, Atlanta Falcons 20

It was tough sledding on the ground for the Falcons, but Bijan Robinson made a major impact through the air. He caught six of seven targets for 100 yards and a touchdown, earning an 81.6 PFF receiving grade. Most impressively, he averaged 17.8 yards after the catch per reception—despite an average depth of target of -1.4 yards—turning short throws into big gains.

Cincinnati Bengals 17, Cleveland Browns 16

The Bengals’ investment on the edge is already paying off. Trey Hendrickson and first-round rookie Shemar Stewart each earned PFF grades above 88.0 in Week 1. Hendrickson tied for the league lead with eight pressures and posted a 90.2 pass-rush grade, third-best among defenders with at least 10 pass-rush snaps. Stewart impressed as well, finishing with a 26.1% pass-rush win rate and three pressures in his NFL debut.

Indianapolis Colts 33, Miami Dolphins 8

Jacksonville Jaguars 26, Carolina Panthers 10

If the Jaguars keep stacking defensive performances like this, they’ll be a tough team to beat. Foyesade Oluokun earned a 92.5 PFF grade—third-best among all defenders in Week 1—thanks to a standout showing in coverage. He was complemented by another dominant outing from Josh Hines-Allen, who posted an 89.6 pass-rush grade and a 32.1% win rate, ranking in the top eight for the week.

Las Vegas Raiders 20, New England Patriots 13

The Raiders already ran 12 personnel at the eighth-highest rate in Week 1 (36.5%), but expect even more two-tight end sets moving forward after strong performances from both Brock Bowers (78.7 PFF receiving grade) and Michael Mayer (83.3). The duo combined for nine receptions, with seven moving the chains.

Arizona Cardinals 20, New Orleans Saints 13

Even at 36 years old, Demario Davis continues to excel in all phases of defense. The Saints captain was dominant against the run in Week 1, earning a 91.0 PFF run-defense grade, the highest among linebackers through Sunday. He recorded two tackles for loss or no gain and didn’t miss a single run fit.

Pittsburgh Steelers 34, New York Jets 32

The Jets may have come up short on the scoreboard, but they made a strong statement to open the season. Justin Fields was sharp through the air, earning a career-high 90.4 PFF passing grade, the second-best in the NFL through Sunday.

Washington Commanders 21, New York Giants 6

Despite landing as the fourth running back on the depth chart heading into Week 1, it became abundantly clear that Jacory Croskey-Merritt is the Commanders' best option in the running game. The seventh-round rookie recorded 8.2 yards per carry with three rushes of 10 or more yards, earning him the highest PFF rushing grade (83.9) by a running back through the Sunday slate.

Denver Broncos 20, Tennessee Titans 12

Just days after signing a lucrative contract extension, Nik Bonitto is already proving his value. The Titans had no answers for him in Week 1, as he dominated with a 91.6 PFF pass-rush grade and a massive 42.9% pass-rush win rate, both ranking top two among edge defenders heading into Monday.

San Francisco 49ers 17, Seattle Seahawks 13

The Seahawks fell short in Week 1 but showed encouraging signs, especially in pass protection. Seattle allowed just seven pressures up front, with Charles Cross standing out. The left tackle didn’t allow a single pressure across 28 pass-blocking snaps and earned an 88.7 PFF pass-blocking grade, the second-highest among all linemen through Sunday.

Green Bay Packers 27, Detroit Lions 13

The Lions would be wise to get rookie receiver Isaac TeSlaa more involved moving forward. Despite playing just three snaps, TeSlaa made one of the most impressive catches of the week — a fourth-quarter touchdown that tied for the highest-graded reception in Week 1. He finished with a 93.6 PFF receiving grade, the best among Lions pass-catchers.

Los Angeles Rams 14, Houston Texans 9

The Matthew Stafford–Puka Nacua connection is already in midseason form. The duo connected on 10 of 11 targets for 130 yards, including four receptions of 15-plus yards. Stafford earned a league-best 93.8 PFF passing grade in Week 1, while Nacua’s 92.3 receiving grade led all receivers with at least five routes run.

Buffalo Bills 41, Baltimore Ravens 40

In a shootout that saw over 80 combined points, it was a defensive play that swung the momentum for Buffalo. Ed Oliver’s clutch forced fumble on Derrick Henry late in the fourth quarter set the stage for the Bills’ comeback. He earned a 92.7 PFF run-defense grade, the second-highest in Week 1.
