“Incredible” West Ham target now ready to leave current club after falling out with new manager

West Ham’s summer transfer window ended up being busier than many expected.

A number of long-and-short-serving players departed — from Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell to Nayef Aguerd — while the likes of Callum Wilson, Kyle Walker-Peters, Mateus Fernandes, Soungoutou Magassa, and Igor Julio arrived to strengthen Graham Potter’s squad.

It wasn’t always smooth, but the late flurry of business left the Hammers in a stronger position than it looked earlier in the window.

Still, one player who slipped through the net was Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma — though that might not be the end of the story.

According to Football Insider, Yves Bissouma is now pushing for a move away from Tottenham after falling out with new manager Thomas Frank.

The Mali international has tumbled down the pecking order following the arrival of João Palhinha, who has immediately impressed in Spurs’ midfield. To make matters worse, Bissouma was left out of Tottenham’s UEFA Super Cup squad against PSG last month after reportedly turning up late to training on multiple occasions.

The report claims Frank has not been impressed with the 29-year-old and would be open to sanctioning his departure.

West Ham and Everton both explored deals for Bissouma late in the summer window but were unable to get anything over the line. However, with the Saudi Pro League and Turkish Super Lig windows still open, overseas suitors could yet swoop in.

Bissouma’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, meaning Spurs could be forced to cash in rather than risk losing him for free.

Once described as “incredible” by former Spurs star Darren Bent, the midfielder may not stay on the market for long. Whether West Ham revisit their interest when the chance arises remains to be seen — but given their recent midfield rebuild, it’s one to watch.
