Nottingham Forest chose to cash in on Anthony Elanga during the summer transfer window.
Elanga moved to Newcastle for a fee in the region of £60 million, and he’s featured in all three of their fixtures so far this season.
Forest have signed a number of wingers this summer, with Omari Hutchinson and Dan Ndoye being joined by Dilane Bakwa, who signed for Forest on transfer deadline day.
Nuno Espirito Santo wanted Adama Traore to come to the club, but Edu rejected that move and instead looked to bring other options into the squad.
It transpires that the Reds also asked about another Premier League winger who quickly shut down any notion of Forest signing him in the summer window.

Nottingham Forest wanted Crysencio Summerville
Since Summerville signed for West Ham for a fee of £25 million, he’s either been out of form or injured.
However, he appears keen to make amends this season and changed the game in West Ham’s favour against Forest last time out.
Summerville set Jarrod Bowen up to open the scoring and then won a penalty against the Reds, which Lucas Paqueta duly dispatched.

According to The Athletic, Forest wanted to sign Summerville and made an enquiry to West Ham for the player’s availability.
However, the move was quickly dismissed, with Summerville believing that he had unfinished business with West Ham.
Forest can be happy with summer transfer business
Summerville is a very good player, but it’s hard to argue that he’s any better than what Forest did sign.
He produced the goods off the bench against Forest last week, but his time at West Ham has been riddled with inconsistencies.
Bakwa, Ndoye and Hutchinson will all add something to the team this season, and it’s unlikely that Forest will rue the fact that Summerville rejected a move.
Forest have a squad that can take the team to the next level right now and it’s the job of Espirito Santo to bring everything together.
