New PL reveal has Leeds United star second behind Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes despite current…

Leeds United have started life back in the Premier League reasonably well, but there’s one issue stemming from their opening three games.

Daniel Farke is no doubt enthused by his United side at the start of this season, collecting four points from three games, two of those being Champions League opposition.

Having picked up two clean sheets either side of the drubbing at Arsenal, the worry for Farke and Leeds is the consistency at which they can create goalscoring chances each week.

Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach second in the Premier League for chances created

Leeds have scored just once in three games so far, which has sparked concern, given that this solitary Lukas Nmecha goal came from the penalty spot in somewhat controversial circumstances against Everton.

Despite a lack of regular threat on the opposition goal, the Premier League have revealed the star leaders for various metrics, with Anton Stach second in the division for chances created (10), behind Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes:

The report reads that seven of Stach’s chances created come from open play, with a further three coming from set-pieces.

Stach’s integration at Elland Road has been impressive thus far and he’s shown early signs of quality in the Premier League, but chance creation outside of the all-action midfielder has been in alarmingly short supply.

According to Sofascore, Leeds have created four big chances this season, which is joint-second-lowest in the division alongside Burnley, with only Wolves lower at two.

Daniel Farke is crying out for creativity in his Leeds United lineup

It was made totally clear that Leeds needed that creative signing in the final days of the window, but it wasn’t forthcoming.

Stach has shown his ability since joining, but for him to be the side’s chief creator in the final third is a worry.

Not only was he not exactly bought for his final third attributes, but the fact he’s head and shoulders above the rest suggests the standards are low now.

Someone like Facundo Buonanotte could have shouldered plenty of that burden, but he chose a bit-part role at Chelsea instead for the season.

Farke has to come up with solutions, though, as regular output on top of our defence looking reasonably solid could give us a huge chance of survival.
