The NFL is laying down the law on the Buffalo Bills player who shoved Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and got shoved by Lamar Jackson

The Buffalo Bills kicked off their 2025-26 season on Sunday, September 7, and they did it in the splashiest possible way: The Bills played the Baltimore Ravens in their season opener. Everyone knows that these two teams are longtime rivals, and franchise quarterbacks Josh Allen of the Bills and Lamar Jackson of the Ravens are perennial favorites to win MVP every season.

So, football viewers couldn’t have asked for a more interesting game to kick off the Bills’ season. Plus, Buffalo and Baltimore delivered with an intense game from start to finish. Well, it looked like the Bills were going to lose, but they duked it out until the end of the game, and in the last minute, pulled off a 41-40 win. It was an incredible win over the Ravens, and MVP-winning Bills quarterback Josh Allen was all smiles after the game.

But, during the game, there was an incident where a Bills fan shoved Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and then that fan got shoved by Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson. Now, the NFL has apparently made their final decision on this incident.

NFL Responds to Buffalo Bills Fan Shoving Baltimore Ravens Player

On Monday, September 8, Adam Schefter of ESPN sent out a message on X saying that the NFL has made their final decision on the incident.

“The fan who shoved Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins, and then got shoved by QB Lamar Jackson, has been ‘indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums,’ per a team official,” he stated on X. “The fan had been ejected after the shove Sunday night.”

So, there you go. That fan will no longer be allowed at Buffalo games or any other NFL games, according to Schefter. That’s what he gets for trying to get physical with a player.

Josh Allen Says Lamar Jackson is ‘One of the Best Players’

Even if these two want to beat each other badly, Allen and Jackson have respect for one another. Allen talked about Jackson ahead of Sunday’s game, and he had glowing words to share.

“You talk about Lamar, he’s one of the best players to touch the grass, honestly,” Allen said, according to The Athletic. “You can’t give him more opportunities than he needs. You can’t give him short fields. He’ll take advantage of those.” Allen added, “On the offensive side, we don’t play the quarterback. We play the defense and the defensive coordinator. Just doing everything that we can to help our defense out.”

Jackson was also asked about Allen, and he had his comments, too. For Jackson, he wasn’t quite as flowery as Allen. He sounds a bit peeved that he got beaten by Allen for the MVP award for the 2024 season, but remember that Jackson won MVPs in 2019 and 2023, so he’s been honored multiple times already, and for good reason.

“The voters voted for who they voted for,” Jackson said. “That’s how they felt. It is what it is. My motivation is the Super Bowl. I’m trying to win the Super Bowl. If MVPs come, I’ll be grateful, but I’m trying to win the Super Bowl.”

Both of these players are talented, and they both acted classy at the end of the game on Sunday. That says something about both Allen and Jackson.
