The Baltimore Ravens dropped their season-opening game on Sunday despite their offense looking as dynamic as ever, putting up 40 points in the 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills on "Sunday Night Football." And soon, the Ravens offense should look even sharper when Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard returns to the fold.
Ricard was one of the key absences for the Ravens in Week 1. And despite the fact that the Ravens' rushing attack in particular seemed unhindered by his absence, John Harbaugh confirmed on Monday that the Ravens offense could soon become even more dangerous with the looming return of Ricard.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Harbaugh shared some insight into when we could expect to see Ricard back on the practice field for the Ravens, saying that it is possible that Ricard, who is dealing with a calf injury, could return to practice at some point this week.
"He should be out there practicing a little this week, potentially," said Harbaugh via ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley.
Most fans likely have a hard time seeing the value of an elite-level fullback in the modern NFL where the position is undervalued as a whole. But Ricard has long been an unsung star within the Ravens organization, reaching five Pro Bowls over the course of his nine-year NFL career.
In addition to Ricard's work as an additional run-game blocker, which has gone a long way in the Ravens leading the league in rushing each of the last two years, Ricard has also shown value as a receiving threat, hauling in touchdown catches in all but two of his seasons in the NFL.
Based on Harbaugh's comments on Ricard's injury, it doesn't exactly sound like a sure thing that Ricard will suit up in the Ravens' Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns.
But at the very least, it seems as if Ricard will be back in the fold in Baltimore in the near future, which has to be seen as a positive for a Ravens offense looking to continue their momentum from Week 1 into the remainder of the 2025 NFL season.
