Ever since 2019 when Daryl Morey sent a tweet supporting anti-government protests in Hong Kong, NBA's relations with China were strained, as games weren't even televised for more than two years.

Gradually with time, Chinese broadcasters signed deals and decided to air NBA on TV again.

Well, this step by LeBron James seems to make an ultimate breakthrough on the heated relations.

LeBron James authorised an essay on Chinese People' Daily newspapers.

This essay follows his visits to Chinese cities Shanghai and Chengdu as part of the Forever King Tour, 20 years after his first tour in Asia.

"The enthusiasm and kindness of Chinese friends deeply touch me, and all I can do is give my all in every game to express my gratitude," James wrote in an essay.

"I hope I can contribute to the development of Chinese basketball," he concluded.

NBA is set for two friendly games in Macau, first matches on Chinese soil since 2019 and incident with Daryl Morey.
