A fan in the end zone seats of Highmark Stadium learned a hard lesson during Buffalo’s 41-40 win on Sunday night. Following a 29-yard one-handed touchdown grab from Deandre Hopkins, the Ravens took their celebration towards the crowd when the fan decided to shove Hopkins in the head while he passed by, then doing something similar to quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson returned the favor, pushing the fan back towards the seats in defense of his teammate.
Now, that fan is banned from not only Highmark Stadium but all NFL venues for an indefinite period. Jackson in his postgame presser said “I forgot where I was for a second — let my emotions get the best of me” and said the interaction would not keep him from celebrating in a similar manner going forward. No comment has been made on whether Jackson will face a fine for engaging with the fan physically but the team and league were swift to come down on the fan and showed zero tolerance for getting personal with players.
Bills fans had a weird night overall, with this brouhaha and some fans leaving early ([called out by Josh Allen](/buffalo-bills-news/115350/josh-allen-delivers-reality-check-for-bills-fans-who-left-week-1-early) in his postgame interview) mixed with one of the widest wins in franchise history.
