The Los Angeles Rams are repeating a costly issue that occurred at the start of the 2024 season. Back in 2024, the Rams had injuries to practically every starting offensive lineman at the time, as Steve Avila, Joe Noteboom, Jonah Jacson, and Kevin Dotson were all injured.

The same is now happening for the Rams, as head coach Sean McVay has revealed that Avila and Dotson will miss some time due to high-ankle sprains.
Per multiple reports, both Avila and Dotson have been given a "week-to-week" injury designation, and both are also in danger of missing the Tennessee Titans Week 2 showdown and the matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3.
Both Avila and Dotson will be evaluated each week to determine their playing status, but high-ankle sprains can often lead to multiple weeks off.

Depending on the severity and type of ankle sprains, the Rams might have to replace both Avila and Dotson for both of the aforementioned games.
Avila hurt his ankle in the first half of the Rams' win against the Houston Texans. He attempted to return and play, which could have made things worse. Now, he will be sidelined for multiple weeks.
For Dotson, he was stepped on during the game, and it was revealed that he suffered a lateral ankle sprain.
The Rams cannot afford to lose more offensive linemen, especially so they do not repeat what occurred in the 2024 season. Last year, the lack of linemen led to a rough start for the team, which went 1-4 during that time.
The good news is the Rams were able to put together a win against the Texans, so they are already better off in 2025. The better news is the team also has the Titans upcoming, who are a worse team on paper.
That is not to say that the Titans or any team is an easy win, but the Rams are a stacked team on both sides of the ball, the offensive line excluded.
Expect McVay and the organization to attempt to bring in some help via trade, the waiver wire, or free agents to make up for the Avila and Dotson injuries.
