Back in 2018, when Luka Doncic entered the NBA, he made it known that one of his goals was to train with LeBron James, and now, he gets to do that constantly. The Los Angeles Lakers fulfilled one of his longtime goals, perhaps without even knowing it, and now, he’ll be in LA for the foreseeable future. He also mentioned that he wanted to train with Stephen Curry, but with James, he wanted to learn everything.

Now, he and James are attempting to do something special in Los Angeles.
**What can Luka Doncic and LeBron James accomplish?**

The standard in LA is painfully obvious: Championships. Nothing else is acceptable in the eyes of Lakers fans, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, that burden is Doncic’s to carry.
In the long run, he may have to bear the torch on his own, but for the time being, James is in town to help him. And in the final few years of his career, he and Doncic could achieve incredible things.
This summer, the Lakers reloaded. After a first-round exit at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, LA tried its best to revamp the roster around Doncic and James.
They added Deandre Ayton to be their starting center and signed Marcus Smart after he was bought out by the Washington Wizards. Both guys will bring a nice defensive presence to JJ Redick’s rotation, and Ayton should provide Doncic with a decent lob threat and pick-and-roll partner to work with.
For years, merely having James on the roster gave that team a chance to win the title. In recent years, Doncic lifted the Dallas Mavericks to great heights, too, getting all the way to the NBA Finals.
Now, as a duo, the two ball-dominant superstars will have to take the pressure off of one another. Surrounded by shooters, secondary creators like Austin Reaves, and defensive-minded players, the Lakers will have to navigate their way through a crowded Western Conference.
However, they have two of the best players in the NBA; therefore, they have a chance.
By getting traded to the Lakers, Doncic gets to live out his longtime wish of training with James all the time. But in order to cement his legacy in LA, he needs to make the most of it and ensure that the training translates to wins.
