Manchester City are eager to accelerate their pursuit of Tino Livramento ahead of future windows, as the Newcastle United wide man is seen as a top target.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City are eager to move ahead with their move for Tino Livramento. The Newcastle United wide man remains a priority target and certainly a player on top of Manchester City’s shortlist of transfer targets, although any deal ahead of January would be extremely difficult.
Newcastle United battled all summer with rejections from some of their top targets, and their main man was forcing through an exit from the club. Eventually, they ended the window by signing some key stars around the latter stages, but also conceded defeat in the Alexander Isak pursuit, as Liverpool got their main target.
However, one underlying factor about Newcastle United’s window was their success in keeping their other top stars like Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento. The latter had a big interest coming from Manchester City, who had planned on paying big for the versatile defender.
Newcastle United had reportedly slapped a high price tag on their wide man, but that may not have deterred Manchester City from making an effort. The 22-year-old Newcastle United wide man is revered for his displays as a right-back, while also being equally capable of playing on the left-hand side.
Manchester City had planned on a big approach, but for some reason, they never made an official bid for their top target. Pep Guardiola views Livramento as the ideal candidate to replace veteran Kyle Walker, who has already joined Burnley in the summer.
Manchester City to push for Tino Livramento
Manchester City are ready to push forward with their pursuit of Livramento, but they do face big challenges ahead. First of all, Newcastle United are not remotely planning on selling the defender, particularly in the January window, although next summer there could be conversations between all parties.
Newcastle United were planning on handing Livramento a new deal, and should he defender commit his future to the Magpies, a move to Manchester City is all the more impossible. Even if they had a chance, the Magpies will demand top dollar for their star defender, meaning any move in the next window is all but impossible.
