Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a simple but strong message following getting shoved by a Buffalo Bills fan.

The Buffalo Bills are slowly coming down off their high of winning the first game of the 2025-26 season on Sunday, September 7, and doing so in a very high-octane way. The Bills, of course, had a massive comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in their season opener, and MVP-winning Bills quarterback Josh Allen pulled off quite a victory of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

While the game ended on a high note, it wasn’t all fun and games. During the game, there was an unfortunate incident where a Buffalo fan shoved Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Jackson didn’t take too kindly to that, and he shoved the guy back to defend his teammate.

Now, Jackson is speaking out about that moment and explaining what happened. It’s totally understandable that he would want to come to the defense of his friend and teammate, and that Bills fan was out of line for the shove. But, Jackson is still taking responsibility for his actions.

Lamar Jackson Has a Simple Message After Buffalo Bills Fan Confrontation

Following the game, Jackson was asked about that moment and reflected on what made him react the way that he did. It was a surprise to everyone to see Jackson shove the fan, but it was even a bigger surprise that the fan started it.

His four-word message that meant the most is that Jackson said, “I’ll learn from that.”

“He slapped me, he talking, so I just forgot where I was for a little bit,” Jackson said, in greater context, as reported by ESPN’s SportsCenter. “You gotta think in those situations. We got security out there. Let security handle it. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully it don’t happen again. I’ll learn from that.”

More on the Buffalo Bills Attendee’s Punishment

As for the fan, he’s already getting penalized by the NFL. On Monday, September 8, Adam Schefter of ESPN sent out a message on X saying that the NFL has made their final decision on the matter.

“The fan who shoved Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins, and then got shoved by QB Lamar Jackson, has been ‘indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums,’ per a team official,” he stated on X. “The fan had been ejected after the shove Sunday night.”

So, that audience member will no longer be allowed at Buffalo games or any other NFL games, according to Schefter. He should have known better than to put his hands on a player like that. It was really a sour moment for the Bills in what was otherwise a great evening.

In other news, looking at quarterback rankings before the game, in a preseason feature from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, he discusses the best quarterbacks in the NFL before the start of the 2025-26 season. Allen was named the No. 2 best quarterback in the NFL, just behind Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Jackson was No. 4 behind Allen, Mahomes and No. 3, who was Joe Burrow.

Maybe now that Allen has won Week 1 and Mahomes has not, he’ll start to move up to the top spot on the tally. The next few week will show how it shakes out.
