Gyokeres may miss key Arsenal matches over court clash

Viktor Gyokeres might be forced to sit out key Arsenal games next year as the striker is expected to appear in a Swedish court.

Rocky start and big price tag

Arsenal splashed £55m on Viktor Gyokeres this summer. They brought him in from Sporting CP to solve their long-standing striker issue. The striker was chosen over Benjamin Sesko, now at Man United, and came with big expectations.

His early days in north London have been mixed. He struggled against Man Utd and Liverpool but showed his finishing touch with a brace against Leeds. The Gunners’ overall summer spending touched a whopping £260m.

Head coach Mikel Arteta built this team with one goal in mind, turning second-place finishes into a PL crown. But now, just months into this plan, Gyokeres’ availability is under question heading into 2026.

🚨 BREAKING from @TheSunFootball:

Viktor Gyökeres HAS AGREED to be called upon as a WITNESS in a case involving his agent Hasan Cetinkaya, who is taking 2 Swedish publications to court for defamation.

Court appearance for Gyokeres could spell trouble for Arsenal

As per the Sun, Gyokeres may miss key Arsenal games next year due to a court case in Sweden. While the striker isn’t accused of wrongdoing, he’s been asked to testify in a defamation lawsuit filed by his agent Hasan Cetinkaya. Two Swedish publications accused Cetinkaya’s agency of criminal links, claims strongly denied.

The striker has agreed to appear as a witness in the case if needed. Arsenal are going to have some key domestic and European games during that time. This is adding uncertainty to Arteta’s plans. With UCL nights, FA Cup battles, and tough league games lined up, losing their star striker would be a major blow.

Author’s Opinion:

For Arsenal, this isn’t just about one player missing a game or two. It’s about momentum. Mikel Arteta has built a strong team. So, losing his record signing in key moments could disrupt the rhythm badly. The Gunners can’t afford distractions when chasing silverware.
