2 sources state Nottingham Forest contact with manager – ‘Hot candidate’ to replace Nuno

Nottingham Forest have confirmed Nuno Espírito Santo has been relieved from duties and are yet to confirm his replacement.

The Premier League club have started working behind the scenes before parting ways with Nuno Espírito Santo and have identified Domenico Tedesco as a target.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, and he reports Nottingham Forest could challenge Fenerbahçe for the 39-year-old’s signature.

The Turkish club showed the exit door to José Mourinho at the end of August and still searching for his successor. Di Marzio says Fenerbahçe are the strong contenders to land Tedesco, who is also of interest to the Reds.

He claims Nottingham Forest made contact with the Italy born manager even before Nuno Espírito Santo’s exit. The two are clubs are battling and are awaiting his final decision.

Over in Germany, SportBild report the former RB Leipzig manager is the top candidate to become Mourinho’s successor at the Istanbul club.

Fenerbahçe will have to be wary of Nottingham Forest, who are in talks with Tedesco for the vacant job.

This report was published before Nuno Espírito Santo’s departure was confirmed, and they say Tedesco would be the ‘hot candidate’ to replace the Portuguese.

He’s been without a job since leaving Belgium at the start of this year and that should make it relatively easy for Nottingham Forest or another club to appoint him.
