Everton’s Jack Grealish leaves Wayne Rooney surprised after meeting him during international…

Former Everton striker Wayne Rooney has recently met up with Jack Grealish on the back of his summer move to Merseyside.

It has been quite the start to the season for Grealish, who has adapted to life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with ease.

No other player in the Premier League has more assists (4) than Grealish currently through the opening three games.

Grealish took Rooney’s former shirt number at Everton, having joined on loan for the season from Manchester City.

And it seems as if the pair have remained in touch following the move, with Rooney recently celebrating the winger’s 30th birthday during this international break.

Ahead of the upcoming Everton game at the weekend, Rooney has now shared how Grealish is really feeling after the switch to Merseyside.

Wayne Rooney wowed by secret side to Everton star Jack Grealish

After a stunning start to the season, Grealish has already proven some pundits wrong, who did not expect him to kick on at Everton.

The soon-to-be 30-year-old has shown his true quality in just a short space of time, which will have caught the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, Rooney has admitted there is a side to Grealish that may surprise a lot of people.

“Do you know what, Jack’s a really kind-hearted person and I don’t think that comes across as much as it probably should,” said Rooney.

“He’s got a big heart, he’s very respectful, and I think not playing at Manchester City was very difficult for him; I know it was. But going to Everton, he’s gone to a club where he’s going to get the time and space to enjoy his football.”

Tuchel has already issued a message to Grealish to keep up his good work at Everton, with the England manager admitting he’s a big fan of the winger.

At a club like Everton, this side will get more recognition with the fans, and the forward has made himself a firm fan favourite already.

Grealish set for Aston Villa reunion this weekend

It is back to action for Everton in the Premier League this weekend, with Aston Villa making the trip north to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This will provide Grealish with an opportunity to continue his fine start to the campaign, with a game against one of his former sides.

Grealish has made Everton history with his electric start to the season, but he needs to keep it up if he is going to make the World Cup squad next summer.

It has been a dreadful start to the season for Unai Emery’s side, and they will be keen to get their first win of the season on the board.

But Everton have shown their quality already and there will be a lot of optimism on Merseyside.
