Manchester United are gearing up for a challenging visit to The Etihad this Sunday, where they'll face Manchester City in the derby.

However, Ruben Amorim and his team might just fancy their chances of causing an upset as the Premier League action resumes. United headed into the international break on the back of their first three-point haul of the season, courtesy of a 3-2 victory over Burnley. Despite losing two of their three matches, their revamped squad has shown promise in places.

City, on the other hand, are coming off consecutive losses against Brighton and Tottenham. United have several players away on international duty who should be available for selection. However, Andre Onana is not expected to return after agreeing to join Trabzonspor on loan, leaving Amorim with a selection dilemma ahead of the Manchester derby.

Here, Daily Star Sport looks at all the latest news from Old Trafford as we approach this weekend's big match.

Andre Onana may not have secured the new contract he was seeking from Manchester United earlier this summer, but he's set to nearly double his wages once he completes his move to the Turkish Super Lig.

According to The Athletic, Onana will receive a substantial pay rise thanks to a significant signing-on fee and bonuses with his new club, who take on Fenerbahce on Sunday.

Onana played for Cameroon on Thursday in their 3-0 win over Eswatini and is expected to feature again on Tuesday when they travel to Cape Verde before joining up with his new team.

Benjamin Sesko

Nicky Butt fears that Manchester United have made an error by opting to chase Benjamin Sesko rather than a proven Premier League striker like Ollie Watkins.

The Red Devils were reportedly interested in Watkins, 29, before deciding to push forward with a move for Sesko, who arrived at the club in a deal valued at £73.8m.

However, United's ex-midfielder told BetMGM: "I hope I'm wrong but I really hope they aren't making the same mistakes with [Benjamin] Sesko as they did with Rasmus [Hojlund]."

He added: "Honestly, for what it would have cost, I would have gone and brought in someone like Ollie Watkins, someone to help and pull the young strikers out of a bad patch.

"When young players are just coming into the club, when the onus is on them to score goals, if they're having a few bad games they have to have the safety net of being pulled out of the firing line.

"Ollie Watkins, or someone like that, would be who I would have been looking to bring in."

Reports suggest that United, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all tracking the 26-year-old centre-half, who has a €40m (£34.6m) buyout clause written into his deal.

Bilbao are hesitant to part with Vivian, however, meaning his admirers would need to trigger that release fee in its entirety.
