Opinion: David Moyes discovers another set-piece weapon on international duty for Everton

David Moyes has been trying to nail down set-pieces at Everton, and he might just have done with one player.

The Toffees have looked like a creative machine early on in the Premier League season, as there is a new look to Everton.

Moyes has built a strong attack, which makes his side a threat going forward now.

The Scotsman has shown he’s adaptable, as Pat Nevin thinks Everton have been ‘un-Moyes-like’, as there is normally a more timid approach from the manager.

Although it’s proving to be a success, set-pieces are still a struggle, but a new star might solve this problem.

Tyler Dibling could be a new corner taker for Everton after assist for England U21s

Evertonians are yet to see Tyler Dibling start for them, as the 19-year-old is biding his time since his £35 million switch from Southampton.

But the international break might have opened a new door for the youngster, who has been in action for the England under-21s.

Dibling assisted from a corner for the young Three Lions, as Jobe Bellingham got on the end of a fine cross.

This could give another option from corners for Moyes, as it’s clear since Sean Dyche’s departure, set-plays just haven’t been the same.

Moyes called out the deliveries last season, and even sacked set-piece coach Charlie Adam after four months in his role, but now the Toffees boss could have a good roster this campaign.

David Moyes now spoilt for choice on set-piece duties at Everton

The winger adds to Everton’s growing options from these positions, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also a strong corner taker.

After his start to the season, the 26-year-old has shown his creative outlet in the number ten role and has gone under the radar.

But to have Dibling added to the options, with Jack Grealish also a crossing threat, proves that Moyes might finally be solving this recurring issue from his first eight months back on Merseyside.

Moyes still needs a set-piece coach, and it makes perfect sense with Everton now having the right tools to work with.

If Dibling does make his debut versus Aston Villa on Saturday, fans might get their first glimpse of what could be a secret weapon under Moyes, as it was put on a plate for Bellingham.
