Nottingham Forest are edging closer to appointing Ange Postecoglou as Nuno Espirito Santo’s replacement.
Nottingham Forest have sacked Nuno three games into the new Premier League season after his relationship with Edu became untenable.
Postecoglou is set to sign his Forest contract today, which is expected to be an 18-month deal running through until the summer of 2027.
Forest fans are furious at the Postecoglou appointment, with many concerned about how Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic will cope with his high line.
Although, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Liverpool boss Arne Slot have actually given a positive verdict about the former Spurs boss, which will excite Nottingham Forest supporters.

Mikel Arteta delivers verdict on Ange Postecoglou
Postecoglou is going to have to win over a lot of Nottingham Forest supporters who are struggling to get on board with Marinakis’ decision.
However, speaking back in September 2023, Arteta heaped praise on the then-Tottenham Hotspur manager.
“I really like him,” the Spaniard told BBC Sport.

“I had players and I know players that had him and they always speak really, really highly of him. That’s not a coincidence.
“You can tell straight away he’s fitting in the right way. That’s the beauty of this league that we have top, top managers.”
Clearly, within the industry, Postecoglou is well respected, and his positive relationship with players is encouraging to hear.
Man management was one of Nuno’s biggest strengths, so if the Australian head coach can harness that same positive energy around the training ground, that’s a good starting point.
Arne Slot is also a big fan of Ange Postecoglou
As well as Arteta, Liverpool manager Arne Slot is also a big admirer of Postecoglou and hailed him last December.
“I think Ange Postecoglou gives them that identity back completely,” Slot said via the Guardian.
“Ange is doing great work over there. I hope this is seen a bit more. I also hope, hope, hope that he wins a trophy – not the League Cup.
“I’m completely a fan of his team for the Europa League because people always talk about trophies and that it’s so important.
“For his brand of football and his style, it is so much more important and if he can combine that with winning something that would be so good for football in general because people can stop talking about it’s too attacking or whatever. How on earth can you play too (much) attacking football?”
Forest fans can expect a lot more attacking football at the City Ground, but they will hope it doesn’t come at the cost of goals conceded and ultimately points.
