Report: Amanda Staveley's stance on making a bid for Tottenham

Former Newcastle United director Amanda Staveley remains interested in making a bid to take over at Tottenham.

Spurs shocked the football world last week after it was revealed that long-standing executive chairman Daniel Levy would leave the club.

Levy turned Spurs into a financial powerhouse but was often criticised for his decisions on the football front.

Staveley left Newcastle United in 2024, having been a huge part of the PIF takeover in October 2021.

Indeed, Staveley’s consortium have been linked with Tottenham for months, although Spurs owners ENIC have insisted the club isn’t for sale.

However, the former Newcastle director is reportedly yet to give up in her pursuit.

Amanda Staveley’s consortium could bid for Tottenham in 2026

According to iNews, Staveley’s PCP International Finance Limited could yet bid for the north London club in 2026.

It’s said that their bid is ready to go, despite the fact they have claimed they do not intend to make an offer for the club.

As such, PCP cannot make an offer for another six months unless ENIC invite them back to the table if another party make a bid.

Still, the report adds that they are likely to monitor the situation before deciding whether to progress with their bid next year.

Why Amanda Staveley left Newcastle United in 2024

Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi were popular among Newcastle United fans.

They were the public-facing figures of the PIF era, constantly interacting with players and fans on social media.

However, 2024 brought an awful lot of change for the club. Staveley and Ghodoussi were forced to leave Newcastle, reportedly because there was a belief that they had become too involved in the day-to-day running of the club.

As popular as they were, Newcastle were in a PSR nightmare by the time they left the club and were unable to make any major signings as a result.
