‘Consistent record of winning trophies’ – Nottingham Forest confirm appointment of former Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou

**Nottingham Forest have confirmed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, following the departure of Nuno Espírito Santo early on Tuesday morning.**

[Nuno was relieved of his duties](https://hayters.com/nuno-espirito-santo-leaves-nottingham-forest/) amid growing tensions behind the scenes.

While their start to the season was not cause for major concern, Espirito Santo had publicly voiced concerns about his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Postecoglou will take charge of Forest ahead of their clash with Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Australian manager arrives having ended Tottenham’s 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League last season, in addition to having previous managerial experience at both club and international level, including stints with Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic.

Nottingham Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, said: “We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies. His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions.

“After gaining promotion to the Premier League, then building consistently season after season to secure European football, we now must take the right step to compete with the very best and challenge for trophies. Ange has the credentials and the track-record to do this, and we are excited he is joining us on our ambitious journey.”
