EXCLUSIVE:“What A Load Of Rubbish”–Ruben Amorim Told He Has To Start£74m Star Against Man City

Man United are facing off against rivals Manchester City this weekend at the Etihad following the international break.

Ruben Amorim’s side got off to a slow start in the Premier League, only winning one of their opening three games; a 3-2 win against Burnley before the international break.

It doesn’t get any easier either as they will make the trip to the Etihad on Sunday to play against a Man City side who have also won just one of their opening three. Amorim will have some tough line-up decisions to make.

With both Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount in doubt for the game, it could see the first Premier League start of the season for Benjamin Sesko, who United paid £74m for in the summer transfer window.

Paul Parker says Man United have no choice but to start Sesko

As he hasn’t started a game yet, many have questioned why Amorim isn’t starting the 22-year-old, and one of those is former Man United defender Paul Parker, who spoke to ManUNews exclusively via WhichBookie.

Parker says that Amorim has no choice but to play Sesko, something that he thinks Amorim should have already done. He told us: “He’s got no choice, to be honest. It doesn’t make any sense that he hasn’t started. Pep signed players at the back end last season, he started them. Pep signed players during the summer he started them.”

The former United defender questioned whether Sesko was one of ‘Amorim’s’ signings, or if it was more controlled by the club. He says it could be the reason why the Slovenian striker hasn’t been starting. “Did he sign him or is it someone else signing, because I’ve seen and heard it so many times where the owners are allowing these Directors of Football to sign players.

“So the manager’s way of dealing with it is to leave him on the bench and give him little fleeting visits on the grass. I hope it isn’t that, because it’s a lot of money to go and do that.”

Sesko could be a difference maker for United

The striker clearly has a top goal scoring pedigree. He netted 22 goals in all competitions for RB Leipzig, and it wasn’t exactly as if the Bundesliga is much of a downgrade on the Premier League too.

Parker backed up this sentiment, saying that Man United should have started him straight away, and that he wants to see him get the chance in red.

“I just want to see Sesko come in.” He added. “He’s gonna make mistakes, it’s gonna be difficult, but this is the right time, he should have started, in my opinion, the moment he arrived. There’s been too many times when players have been signed for Manchester United and people keep coming out, oh, he needs time to adjust to the Premier League.

“What a load of rubbish, just let him go and try and play football.”
