London - Saba: Nottingham Forest Football Club announced on Tuesday the dismissal of manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who last month admitted a breakdown in his relationship with club owner Evangelos Marinakis. The club said in a statement, "Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that, following recent circumstances, Nuno Espirito Santo has today been relieved of his duties as first-team coach." Espirito Santo, who was appointed in December 2023, led Nottingham Forest through a relegation battle in his first season before exceeding expectations in the 2024-25 season. Forest spent several weeks among the Premier League's top three last season, finishing seventh after their best league performance in three decades. They qualified for the Europa League this season, their first European competition in 29 years. The 51-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur manager's contract was extended by Forrest until 2028 last June, but his problems with the club's owners have begun to surface despite promising results.
