One of the biggest stories in this game was how up and down quarterback Caleb Williams. He completed 60% of his passes for 210 yards and one touchdown. Williams also rushed for 58 yards on six carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 9.7 yards per carry. This was the first game that Ben Johnson is his head coach.

John Frascella of Bleacher Report made an insane take about the Bears starting quarterback on his Twitter page. Frascella said about Williams,
“If the Bears start the season 0-3… My belief is that Tyson Bagent will takeover for Caleb Williams as Ben Johnson’s starting QB by Week 4.”
There is no way that this is going to happen for Chicago unless Williams gets injured. The Bears are going to have Williams as the starting quarterback for the 2025 season. Frascella is just baiting for attention with this. They brought in Johnson to fix Williams after what happened last season.

Could be as early as week 3.
The wheels are going to start coming off this thing with a loss for Ben Johnson against the Lions.

Caleb still looks very green as a QB. I don’t think the Bears will have much patience with him.

If he does that… he deserves to be fired then.
I get the backup quarterback is the popular bell at the ball but Bagent wasn’t this great QB when he started.
In four games he started the Bears scored 24, 13, 16 and 17.
He is a nice story and backup QB but not the answer.

I dont care if Caleb was the number 1 overall…if Tyson is better then he should start. PERIOD!

Look how much time they gave Fields. No way they make a change that soon if at all this season.

Chicago will go on the road in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Johnson returns to Detroit, Michigan for the first time since becoming the Bears head coach. It will be interesting to see how he does against his old boss, Dan Campbell. If Williams shows signs of struggles in Week 2 against Detroit, then there will be questions still for the former number one overall pick.
