Merlin Rohl is making the right impact early on during his time with Everton, and fans can look forward to seeing signs of a player he’s been learning from.
The German under-21 star joined on loan from Freiburg on deadline day with an obligation to buy should Everton avoid relegation.
Rohl looks like a very promising midfielder and one that the Toffees have been looking at for some time now.
As mentioned, the 23-year-old is already showing signs that he can be a great player for the club, as Rohl has impressed the Everton squad.
Well, if he has been sticking to what he said in 2024, Everton could have some player on their hands.

Everton’s Merlin Rohl said he learns from Kaka and Jude Bellingham
Rohl could be in line to make his debut against Aston Villa on Saturday, but as seen with other new recruits, David Moyes slowly integrates them into the squad.
But the German’s impression so far could guarantee him a place as the former Freiburg man is clearly learning from the best, and showed that during his time in the Bundesliga.

Speaking to rbb24 in January 2024, the midfielder claimed he takes inspiration from a Ballon d’Or winner, and one Jude Bellingham.
“I try to learn things from many great players. I’d perhaps highlight Kaká, who also used to do those long sprints with the ball. Incidentally, he was recommended to me here in Freiburg, and I should watch his games,” Rohl said.
“But Jude Bellingham is also an incredible player, and I enjoy watching him too.”
Rohl isn’t near the quality of the England international, but it’s quite clear his homework on the Real Madrid star is feeding into his overall game.
Merlin Rohl looks like the full package for Everton like Jude Bellingham for Real Madrid
The all-action midfielder can pose as a defensive option while also attacking, which emulates Bellingham as an overall package.
His ability to be versatile in both a number six and ten role is exactly what Moyes needs as an option this season, and his tenure in Germany proved he can show quality in all areas.

Bellingham is obviously the same as both players have a similar build in the form of a physical but elegant player, with Rohl just that little bit taller at six-foot-three.
Freiburg’s manager was disappointed Rohl left, proving how vital he was to the German side, and the Toffees might have landed a bargain.
It’s clear that Bellingham learned his trade in the Bundesliga, which is also where he shares a likeness with Rohl, and now could be his time to burst onto the scene like the Englishman once did.
