Finland young star Miikka Muurinen, also nicknamed Slim Jesus, is starting to attract real attention on the international stage.

Despite being only two years away from the NBA Draft, scouts are already labeling him as a future top recruit, NBA insider Brian Windhorst reported.
"I've been advised by scouts that he's going to go play in college next year. He's still two years away from the draft, I think, unless there's reclassifications," he said on The Hoop Collective. "I can't keep track of this."
Windhorst then emphasized just how much interest the Finnish forward is already drawing.
"Miikka Muurinen is going to be a top recruit. There are a bunch of teams that are trying to get him. But anyway, Muurinen is a guy to be paid attention to for sure coming out of this Bontemps," Windhorst added.
He also pointed to the importance of keeping Muurinen on the radar, even bringing up Luka Doncic as a reference point.
"And I don't know if you got to see them play at all, but definitely someone to keep in the back of your mind. Luka was 17 when he arrived, and no one's comparing him to Luka, but Luka was 17 years old when he really started the momentum of Luka to the NBA."
"You're going to start hearing momentum for this guy, at least as a European prospect," Windhorst concluded.
At EuroBasket 2025, Muurinen has made the most of his limited role. He is averaging 5.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 10.3 minutes of play.
Finland will take on Georgia in the quarterfinals on September 10, giving Muurinen another opportunity to showcase his skills on a high-pressure stage.
