The Chelsea players representing the Young Lions have enjoyed a very successful time too. A 4-1 win over the Netherlands saw them make it an unbeaten September after a win over Ukraine and draw against Spain.
Shumaira Mheuka has been the star of the show so far for the U19s side. Mheuka scored twice in the 3-3 draw with Spain’s U19s side.

Shumaira Mheuka outshines Max Dowman again for England U19s
The youngster was again named in the starting side to take on the Netherlands, among some very talented players, including Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman and former Blue Rio Ngumoha.
Two goals either side of half-time from Mheuka helped put his side in a commanding position, and also carried on his excellent start to the campaign for both club and country.
The striker has been nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Month after starting the season in fine goalscoring form. Mheuka scored five goals in his first three games.

After the news that Liam Delap is set to miss more than two months of action due to a hamstring injury, options are suddenly a lot more limited in the striker position for Maresca in the coming weeks.

Marc Guiu has been recalled from his loan at Sunderland, however is ineligible to feature in the EFL Cup after already featuring for the Black Cats.
There will be an appetite to rotate Joao Pedro whenever possible in the coming months, and Maresca could end up looking to his youth options to fill the role.
Mheuka is standing out as the number one candidate at this stage, and his performances for his country have only improved his chances.
