Arsenal and Liverpool chasing Bundesliga star

Premier League champions Liverpool will hope to continue their perfect start to the new campaign when they face Burnley on Sunday.

The Reds make the trip to Turf Moor having won all three of their matches so far this season, with Arne Slot’s side sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table.

New signing Alexander Isak could be in line to make his debut for the Merseyside giants, having joined from Newcastle United for a British record fee on deadline day.

In the build up to the match, it has emerged that Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League clubs showing interest in a Bundesliga midfielder.

As per TEAMtalk, Liverpool are one of several English clubs keeping tabs on Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller.

The report claims that Arsenal are another of the clubs interested in the player, while Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are suggested to be the two unnamed sides.

Stiller, 24, joined Stuttgart from fellow German side Hoffenheim back in 2023 and has since cemented himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.

In total he has played 85 times for his current side, but his impressive displays have attracted interest from elsewhere.

The report suggests that Arsenal and Liverpool are currently leading the race to land the central midfielder, who is under contract until the end of the 2027/28 season.

The player’s contract includes a release clause set at around £34.6 million which becomes active next summer, although Stuttgart have the option to buy out the clause for a fee of just £1.7 million.

It is claimed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sees Stiller as an ideal addition to his squad, with the German theoretically able to partner either Declan Rice or Martin Zubimendi in midfield.
