Huge blow as Leeds United star could be ruled out for Fulham game

Aside from a few incidents during the international break, Leeds United have navigated things smoothly. Despite some injury scares, the Whites are expected to have a healthy squad for the league’s return this weekend.

Leeds have gotten four points from a possible nine this season, and are unbeaten at home. Two clean sheets in huge games against Everton and Newcastle are positives the club can work on. When Daniel Farke’s side return this weekend, they go away to Fulham. Leeds’ away form has not been the best at the start of this season as they have lost both games, including a 5-0 loss to Arsenal.

Fulham will also be buoyed by the fact that their head coach did not leave to join Nottingham Forest.

News coming in from Joe Donnohue of FourFourTwo has suggested that there is an injury concern at Elland Road. According to the report, first choice Lucas Perri has picked up an injury in training. No specific details have been mentioned yet, but Daniel Farke is expected to provide some clarity on Thursday afternoon.

Leeds already have to worry about midfield duo Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka, who could miss the game against Fulham this weekend. The club are also yet to assess the extent of the knock Illia Gruev picked up on international duty.

Perri’s injury woes continue

Nobody knows the extent of the injury yet, but there is every chance it could be related to the knock he arrived with in pre-season. Because of that he missed a few of the preparation games. Daniel Farke even revealed that the Brazilian had been carrying the knock in his first few weeks in England after the Newcastle game.

“Lucas came with an injury. Two clean sheets always good. We know he can improve his kicking. We don’t want him acting like a 10 or additional outfield player, but room for improvement. Needs time with GK coach. Main thing is saving the ball. So far, so good.”

Hopefully the goalkeeper is not out for an extended period after his great start to the season.
