After the game, he received huge praise from his teammate Furkan Korkmaz, who stated that Alperen Sengun is now the best center he has played with, even surpassing his former MVP teammate from his days with the Philadelphia 76ers.
"I think Joel Embiid was the best player, best center I was playing with, but I think we can tell that it's Alperen [Sengun] now," Korkmaz stated.
"It's great to be around him. He's enjoying basketball, and he helps us a lot on the court, both defensively and offensively.
"I think he's a special kid, and every day he's trying to give his maximum. And this year, we are also seeing that he's playing aggressive defense too, not only offense, and that gives us a lot of confidence on the court," he added.
Alperen Sengun has been outstanding in the tournament so far, averaging 22 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists over his first four EuroBasket games.
He ranks third in the tournament in efficiency rating (31.8 EFF) and assists per game (6.7), and second in rebounds per game with 10.7.
