CASPER, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming has produced several NFL players currently making an impact. Here’s how they did in the most recent week’s slate of games.
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Allen and the Bills won an instant classic to kick their season off, prevailing 41-40 over the Baltimore Ravens in a wild fourth quarter comeback.
Allen, the reigning MVP, was 33-for-46 on pass attempts for 394 yards, tossing a pair of touchdowns and running for two more. The 394 passing yards Allen racked up is his fifth-highest single-game total.
Next up for the Bills will be a road contest against the New York Jets in Week 2.
Frank Crum, Denver Broncos
Crum, an offensive lineman for the Broncos, did not take the field in his team’s 20-12 win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Broncos will head to Indianapolis next week for a road game against the Colts.
Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints
Granderson was better than solid in his first game of the new season, but it wasn’t enough to help lift his Saints to victory, as they fell to the Arizona Cardinals 20-13.
Granderson recorded six tackles, one of which was for a loss, as well as 1.5 sacks. The Saints’ defensive end also broke up a trio of passes in the effort.
Next up for Granderson and the Saints will be a home game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.
Chad Muma, Indianapolis Colts
After spending his first three seasons with the Jaguars, Muma began his new stint with the Colts on the bench, as he did not take the field in their 33-8 drubbing of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals
Wilson, a Casper native, had a strong showing in his first game back after a knee injury cut his 2024-25 season short. His strong defensive play helped the Bengals win a 17-16 nailbiter over the Cleveland Browns.
Wilson logged seven tackles and defended a pair of passes.
Last year, Wilson was establishing himself as one of the league’s top linebackers when his injury halted his season. At the time he was sidelined, he was top-three in the league in tackles; And despite missing the final six games of the season, Wilson still finished the season with the second-most tackles on the team.
The Bengals will square off against the Jaguars in Week 2 on Sunday.
Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Wingard came up big defensively for the Jaguars on Sunday, helping power the Jaguars to a 26-10 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Wingard, a safety for the Jags, was critical in limiting Carolina’s receiving corps; he finished with eight tackles, second-most in the game.
The Jaguars will face off against the Bengals in Week 2.
