Nottingham Forest have moved quickly to appoint Ange Postecoglou as the successor to Nuno Espirito Santo.
Tensions reached a breaking point between Espirito Santo and Edu ahead of the season, and now, just three games into the campaign, the head coach has been replaced.
Evangelos Marinakis has explained why he’s appointed Postecoglou, and ultimately, it’s now up to the supporters to back him.
Forest play Arsenal on Saturday and now Postecoglou will face an immediate baptism of fire as he gets his feet under the table at the City Ground.
Robert Earnshaw thinks Forest are in safe hands with Postecoglou, but for now, the furore surrounding Espirito Santo’s departure rumbles on.
The final straw for Nuno Espirito Santo at Forest now explained
Espirito Santo wanted Adama Traore signed in the summer, but Edu had other ideas and opted for Omari Hutchinson and Dilane Bakwa instead.
It seems crazy to think that Espirito Santo was so fuming based on not signing a 29-year-old winger who cannot get in the Fulham team, but here we are.
Now, TalkSPORT have claimed that the final straw for Marinakis came in the fact that Espirito Santo left Douglas Luiz on the bench for two games since he arrived at the club.

Luiz, another Edu capture, was an unused substitute against Crystal Palace and West Ham, with Marinakis raging with that decision made by the now departed head coach.
Luiz could now play a starring role under Postecoglou
With the Australian head coach likely to play more progressive football on the front foot, it’s imperative that Luiz gets into the team.
That will likely come at the expense of Ibrahim Sangare, who could be the fall guy, despite his impressive start to the campaign.
Luiz is a player with over 200 Premier League appearances to his name, and it would be nice to see him given a run in the team in the near future.
Given that Marinakis wanted Espirito Santo to call upon him, it will now be fascinating to see if he gets the nod to play under Postecoglou in the coming weeks.
