The NBA offseason will wrap up in the coming month, and former Boston Celtics guard Malcolm Brogdon is still looking for a new team.
While many teams have few roster spots available, the New York Knicks currently have an open spot and are looking for guard help.
SNY NBA reporter Ian Begley stated Monday on X that Brogdon is among the Knicks’ [targets](https://x.com/IanBegley/status/1965189562172669960), alongside free agent guards Ben Simmons and Landry Shamet.
“Knicks have had dialogue with free agent Ben Simmons over the course of the offseason and certainly have had interest in him, but the club has never made a formal offer to Simmons, per league sources,” Begley wrote. “Landry Shamet, Malcolm Brogdon among those on Knicks radar for its lone roster spot.”
Brogdon played just one year with the Celtics, but it was one of the best seasons of his career. During the 2022-23 campaign, he won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, averaging 14.9 points, 3.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 67 games.

In October of 2023, Brogdon was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the trade for point guard Jrue Holiday.
Brogdon has played for the Trail Blazers and the Washington Wizards over the past two seasons, appearing in only 63 games due to a torn ligament in his thumb and a sprained ankle.
