The Miami Dolphins needed offensive line help due to a slew of injuries. So they plucked a guard from the Cleveland Browns practice squad.
The Dolphins signed Cole Strange on Tuesday, just days before their Week 2 matchup with Strange’s former New England Patriots team, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.
Strange spent his first three NFL seasons in New England after being drafted by the franchise in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but was waived by the Patriots in August ahead of cutdown day. He was signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad with what was reported a path to the active roster, but did not play in Week 1.
Strange could see the field in Week 2 against his former Patriots team. With Miami’s need for offensive line help, he could very well suit up opposite of the team that cut him just weeks ago.
