Ben Simmons has been making headlines throughout the NBA offseason. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft has played seven years in the league for three different teams. Now, Simmons remains a free agent with the 2025-26 season set to get underway next month.

It was reported on Monday that Simmons rejected a contract offer from the New York Knicks recently, and he had interest from the Boston Celtics, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

On Tuesday, Simmons’ agent, Bernie Lee, reportedly dropped the Australian native as a client, per Bleacher Report’s Joseph Zucker.

The New York Post’s Stefan Bondy reported that Lee decided to part ways with Simmons after he refused to accept an offer to join the Knicks, which was the only free agent offer he had received.

After Stein reported that Simmons refused the Knicks’ contract, SNY’s Ian Begley said that Simmons and the Knicks were in contract talks, but New York never made an official offer to the veteran guard.

Simmons began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played four seasons, and was selected to the NBA All-Star team in three of them. Last year, Simmons reached a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets before joining the Los Angeles Clippers, where he appeared in just 18 games.

In his career, the 6-foot-10, 240-pound point guard has averaged 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists in 383 games.

With Lee deciding to move on from Simmons, this leaves him without an agent or a roster spot, as he continues to decide on what the future holds.
