Even without Alexander Isak, Newcastle United have so many players who are exciting to watch.
Before Isak’s transfer to Liverpool, a lot of spectators would have picked him as Newcastle United’s most exciting player.
However, there are plenty of candidates. Anthony Gordon’s raw pace and dribbling ability is what gets fans on the edge of their seats, while the metronomic presence of Sandro Tonali in the middle of the park can be mesmerising.
For the purists, there is nothing better than seeing Dan Burn fly into a tackle or Joelinton outmuscle an opponent.
However, Troy Deeney has picked someone else from the Newcastle United squad.

Troy Deeney loves watching Bruno Guimaraes for Newcastle United
Speaking on the latest episode of the Sports Agents podcast, Deeney has explained why he absolutely loves watching Bruno Guimaraes play for Eddie Howe’s side.
He is part of a brilliant midfield trio alongside Tonali and Joelinton, with Deeney admitting that he thinks it is the best midfield in the entire Premier League.
“They’ve got the solid midfield as well,” he said.

“I think [it is] the best midfield in the league, personally.
“He [Bruno Guimaraes] is on the edge, isn’t he? Every time. I love watching him play.
“I was there at Liverpool and he was orchestrating everything, whether he’s on the pitch, in the crowd. But he is like one more second and then he’s getting sent off, every time.”
How much did Bruno Guimaraes cost Newcastle United?
Bruno was one of the first players to arrive at St James’ Park after the PIF takeover. He was the first overseas star to buy into the Newcastle United project, arriving from Lyon in January 2022.
The midfielder was Newcastle’s most expensive signing during that first transfer window under PIF, but he has proven to be a bit of a bargain when you consider what he has contributed during his time on Tyneside.
Newcastle paid Lyon an initial £35million for the Brazil international. The deal also included £6.5million in add-ons, meaning Bruno cost Newcastle £41.5million.
It has proven to be money well spent. During his three-and-a-half years at St James’ Park, Bruno has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders.
Bruno has become the Newcastle United captain, leading them to Carabao Cup glory last season. Seeing him lift that trophy at Wembley was incredibly emotional, cementing his legacy as a Newcastle United legend.
