Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has now received his punishment after already getting ejected for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in Week 1.
The NFL is fining the former Georgia product $57,222 for the incident and the ejection will count as a 1-game suspension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter also said Carter’s fine of $57,222 amounts to exactly one week’s pay. Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed that there’ll be no appeal.
“After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,” Rosenhaus told Schefter.
The 24-year-old Carter was drafted by the Eagles with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his first 2 pro seasons, the 6-foot-3 Carter has amassed 75 combined tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown.
While at Georgia, Carter was a 2-time national champion, unanimous All-American and first and second team All-SEC selection.
This ruling paves the way for Carter to make his season debut on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
