Brian Windhorst Reveals Update About LeBron James’ Future

The NBA world continues to wonder how much longer LeBron James will play.

At nearly 41 years old, no one would be shocked if he stepped away from the game in a few months.

But he is still playing sensational basketball, so he has no real reason to hang up the jersey.

Brian Windhorst shed some light on James’ situation and his plans for the years ahead.

According to Windhorst, James is taking it year by year.

“He’s going year to year. Could this be his last year? Yes. Will it be his last year? I don’t know. Does he know right now? Maybe. My interpretation is that it has not been established. He will see where he’s at the end of the year,” per Brian Windhorst.

James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists on 51.3 percent from the field last season.

He started in all 70 of his games and played for 34.9 minutes per night.

Those aren’t numbers we see from a 40-year-old star, which leads some people to think he could play for several more seasons.

He could, of course, but it also wouldn’t be surprising if he announces his retirement shortly.

However, it would be disappointing if he didn’t give the league some advanced notice.

Players and teams would want to give James a proper send-off, and they would like to shower him with praise and celebration for months before he steps away for good.

So when the time comes for James to retire, he will likely let people know well ahead of time.

James is about to start his 23rd season in the league, and he may have several more left in him.

Right now, the league is filled with excitement and anticipation about what’s next for him.
