49ers lose fantasy football standout again

The San Francisco 49ers are hoping that this season brings better injury luck than 2024 did, when the Niners missed the playoffs after having the year completly derailed by injuries to their star players.

Unfortunately, it’s looking like things are going just as abysmally as they did last season, according to one prominent league insider.

“Sources: 49ers are placing Pro Bowl TE George Kittle on injured reserve, meaning he now will miss at least the next four games. Kittle injured his hamstring during Sunday’s win over Seattle and now will miss games at New Orleans, vs. Atlanta, Jacksonville and at the Rams,” [reported ESPN’s Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Monday.](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1965461468935323897)

Fans reacte to the news on social media.

“This likely means he has a grade II hamstring strain which is a partial Tear. Typically healing time is 4-6 weeks,” one doctor wrote on Twitter.

“At this point the 49ers should just bubble wrap Kittle every offseason. Great player, but you can’t build an offense around someone who’s always on IR,” one fan added.

“Honestly, the 49ers rushing George Kittle back so soon after previous injuries might have caused this. At some point, you have to ask if the team values short-term wins over the player’s long-term health,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Niners manage without Kittle.
