2 Veterans Make NBA History After Hall Of Fame Inductions

They have already had spectacular NBA careers, but LeBron James and Chris Paul did something downright historic over the weekend.

James and Paul were both inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame because they were part of the 2008 Team USA Men’s Basketball team.

That means they are the only active players in NBA history to be inducted into the Hall.

That’s a stunning accomplishment, but these two will be back someday.

The 2008 USA group was known as the “Redeem Team” because they were able to once again show American dominance on the world stage after a disappointing run just four years before.

At the time, James and Paul had a few years under their belts, but they were both still seen as the young guys on the squad.

Times have definitely changed.

Nearly 20 years later, Paul and James have played their last Olympic games, and they are surely nearing the end of their time in the NBA.

There are rumors that Paul might retire at the end of next season after another run with the Los Angeles Clippers.

As for James, he will likely stick around longer, but there is no doubt he’s getting closer to riding off into the sunset.

Typically, NBA stars only enter the Hall years after they hang up their jerseys for good.

But these are not two typical NBA players.

Other members of the 2008 team include Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, and more.

It really was a squad unlike any other, but only two of them remain in the league.

Paul and James have showcased greatness for years, so it’s no surprise that they are now in the Hall of Fame.

This time it’s for their team effort, but in a few years it’ll be because of their individual and iconic work in the NBA.
