With Week 1 officially in the books, attention has already shifted to Week 2’s slate of games, which features several premier matchups.
On Tuesday, following his first broadcast of the season for Fox Sports, Tom Brady provided his weekly power rankings and declared the best team in the league after Week 1—without hesitation.
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, operates under the mindset that “to be the champ, you have to beat the champ,” and it seems that until someone accomplishes that, the Philadelphia Eagles will remain his No. 1 team in the NFL.
“And No. 1 has to be the defending champs, the Eagles,” Brady said. “They got by without Jalen Carter, and now they’re going to look to anchor that defense back in Week 2, combined with a crazy offense that plays its best in the biggest moments. In order to be the champ, you’ve got to beat the champ, and nobody’s done that yet.”

The Eagles, however, face a tough challenge this week after their 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Philadelphia heads to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl LIX rematch. Brady ranked the Chiefs No. 7 in his top 10 power rankings after their season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil.
Brady will be on the call for the Eagles-Chiefs matchup, which is set as America’s “Game of the Week,” kicking off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.

Rounding out his top five, Brady included the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Ravens—who fell in a thrilling overtime loss to the Bills on “Sunday Night Football” after surrendering a 15-point lead with under four minutes remaining.
