Nottingham Forest have appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager following Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking.
Ange Postecoglou has joined on a deal running through until the summer of 2028, and Evangelos Marinakis is confident he can win silverware at the City Ground.
“After gaining promotion to the Premier League, then building consistently season after season to secure European football, we now must take the right step to compete with the very best and challenge for trophies,” Marinakis explained.
“Ange has the credentials and the track-record to do this, and we are excited he is joining us on our ambitious journey.”
Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the Club’s First Team Head Coach.

Predicting Ange Postecoglou’s XI ahead of Arsenal clash
Nuno often had his side in a low block, and Forest were happy to be without the ball in the majority of games last season.
Postecoglou is set to bring a much more free-flowing attacking brand of football, leaving behind the counter-attacking approach.

That means there has to be a change in personnel, which could see some first-team regulars dropped to the bench.
Chris Wood could drop out, with Arnaud Kalimuendo favoured for his pace and willingness to run in behind, attacking space.
Douglas Luiz is another who is set to become a starter as he brings control and naturally more possession in the midfield.
Here’s how the Australian head coach could line up.

Ange Postecoglou wants fans to love watching his teams
Speaking back in 2023, Postecoglou explained his philosophy on a very basic level and that’s to keep the ball and make it enjoyable for supporters to watch.
“But I’ve always been intent on building teams that supporters love to watch and the way 99% of footballers want to play,” he told Football London.
“We start off as seven, eight or nine-year-olds playing the street with the ball at our feet and we loved scoring goals.
“We loved to tackle, we loved the action. We weren’t worried about tactics or results then, we just wanted to play the game and I’ve tried to come up with a system that replicates that but also knowing that ultimately I’m going to be judged by winning games of football and I love winning, so I’ve tried to marry both and so far it’s worked well.”
Whilst there is some pessimism among supporters about the appointment, there’s no doubt many of the new recruits suit Postecoglou’s style of play.
Whether that translates into positive results, only time will tell.
