National media outlets come to the same conclusion about Newcastle star Tino Livramento after…

Newcastle United star Tino Livramento played in England’s resounding 5-0 win over Serbia in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.

Livramento, who came off the bench during England’s dull 2-0 win over Andorra on Saturday, played at left-back as Thomas Tuchel recorded his best win in charge of the Three Lions to date.

Travelling away to Serbia has to be considered as England’s toughest test in the World Cup qualification cycle and they passed it with flying colours.

Harry Kane, Noni Madueke, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi and Marcus Rashford scored the goals on a brilliant night for Tuchel, who is leaning on something of a Newcastle United core.

Indeed, while Dan Burn didn’t play in Serbia, he has been a key part of Tuchel’s set-up thus far. Anthony Gordon, meanwhile, started alongside Livramento in Belgrade.

Here’s what the national media made of Livramento’s performance.

The bulk of prominent media outlets in the UK all seemed to agree that Livramento put in a 7/10 display.

The Mirror gave Livramento a 7/10 rating and said: “A good performance from left back as he really staked his claim.”

Standard Sport, meanwhile, rated his performance 7/10, writing: “Given a show of faith ahead of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Djed Spence, and fared well, particularly defensively, dispossessing Serbia down the flank.”

BBC Sport also praised Livramento. They gave him a 7/10 and said: “The versatile full-back linked well with Newcastle team-mate Anthony Gordon down the left. Full of energy and found a good balance between defence and attack.”

The Telegraph also rated him a 7/10, saying: “May not grab the headlines but this was an effective performance from the Newcastle full-back. Good in the duel on his flank, his defending was solid – which was his focus rather than bombing forward 7/10. World Cup starter chances: Likely squad player with players returning to add competition in the full-back areas”

How did Tino Livramento play for England against Serbia?

Tuchel wanted Livramento to take responsibility for the England U21s this summer before he made the real step up into the senior side.

The defender had already played for England at senior level before winning the U21 European Championships, but Tuchel deemed dropping back into age group level as an important step in his development.

It’d be fair to say the 22-year-old did that with some brilliant performances for the U21s, while he looked solid enough in a difficult away game for the senior team on Tuesday night.
