'We need' - Newcastle United delivered Premier League verdict as dilemma looms large

The big debate at Newcastle United is, who will start up front in the Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Right, internationals done. I mean, we all like them, but our true love, if you’re anything like us lads at NewcastleWorld, is the bread and butter - and black and white stripes.

Newcastle United are back in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend - and while there have been performance positives so far this campaign, the points have not been returned. The Magpies go in search of their first three, at the fourth attempt, at St James’ Park on Saturday.

And the big selection debate, having not had a decision to make in this department yet this campaign, for Eddie Howe is whether to start Nick Woltemade or Yoane Wissa up front - and fans have been having their say.

NUFC fans have their say on the Wissa or Woltemade debate

Paul Hayles: “Wissa the wisp for me defo.”

Phill Davison: “Knowing Eddie, he will play Wissa (PREM league experience) and gently introduce Woltemade once he has trained with squad and got on board what Howe wants and how he wants the team to function.”

Ian Potts: “I don't think we will see Woltemade any time soon. After watching him play for Germany. I think they get him up to speed in training first.”

Stuart Maclauchlan: “Wissa all day long. He’s a pure predator will score loads in this team. Woltemade is a project Eddie will get the best out of. Guarantee Isak will get benched at Liverpool by Ekitike. Can see it a mile off.”

Scott Johnson: “Has to be Wissa for me. He knows the league and it also gives Woltemade the chance to settle into the tactics of the team and play with less pressure. If we are up by a couple goals by the 70 minute mark give him that last 20 minutes.”

Dave McDonough: “4-2-3-1 and play Woltermessi as a number 10 behind Wissa. If you watch the YouTube video’s from last season this is where he plays best.”

Tony Brewis: “Who do you drop to make room for them?”

Ray Honour: “Got to be Wissa. Then Nick will get his chance when Wissa goes off to the African Nations Cup . We need a prolific Premier League striker to get things back on track for us.”

Phillip Middlemast: “Wissa 100%. He know the league, takes the pressure of Woltemade and allows him to settle. Just like when a certain individual came in and was second choice to Wilson for his first season.”

Alan Shearer Gray: “Both.”

Halim Bouderba: “Both in the absence of Gordon.”

Jamie Olde: “Has to be Wissa. Nick needs to be brought into the game gradually. And what a player in Wissa to take the pressure of the young man. Just think the villa and liVARpool games if we had a striker like Wissa we could be on points right now.”

Stewart Oates: “Both drop Barnes.”

Dave Brennan: “Wissa sure starter, Nick 15 - 20mins.”

Angie Ev Gladstone: “Wissa as match ready, what a great asset. Can't wait to see him in action. Eddie will train Woltemade to his fullest potential. Both great signings.”

Michael Reilly: “Wissa starts ,from what I've seen so far of Woltemade, he's a long way off starting a Premier League game.”
