After making multiple additions to their roster this offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to bounce back from their disappointing first-round playoff exit last season and chase a championship.

Of course, the Lakers are expected to be a threat in the Western Conference this season due to their superstar duo of LeBron James and Luka Doncic, but they also made some notable additions to their roster this offseason to better their title odds.

Los Angeles signed Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart and Jake LaRavia in free agency to fill some noticeable holes in their roster.

With these moves, the Lakers are looking to make a run at a championship this season with Doncic and James leading the way, though they could elect to make more moves ahead of the trade deadline.

Lakers Showing Interest in Heat’s Andrew Wiggins

One player the Lakers have recently been linked to is current Miami Heat forward and former Golden State Warriors champion Andrew Wiggins.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Lakers are showing interest in Wiggins and could look to pull off a trade if the Heat elect to move him this season.

For the Lakers, adding the champion forward to their roster would bolster their forward depth, though it may cost them one of their young players to acquire him.

Mock Trade Sends Andrew Wiggins to Lakers

In a potential trade, the Lakers could send Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber and draft capital to the Heat in exchange for Wiggins.

This would be an interesting trade for the Lakers as they would be moving on from one of their young players in Knecht, though they proved last year that they would trade him as they sent him to the Charlotte Hornets for Mark Williams in a trade that would eventually fall through.

By acquiring Wiggins, the Lakers would add a reliable scorer and defender to their starting lineup next to Doncic, James and Austin Reaves who could help them chase a championship this season.

Last season, the 30-year-old forward averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.4% from three over 60 games with both the Warriors and Heat.

Wiggins would give the Lakers another great scorer and defender in their starting lineup and he also has championship experience, which is a major plus for Los Angeles as they look to make a run at another title.

Despite this, Wiggins may draw interest from multiple teams if the Heat look to move him this season and with the Lakers’ lack of trade assets, they could be outbid for him by another team.
