Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has yet to recover from the ankle injury he suffered in August and will miss the upcoming match against Real Sociedad. Camavinga hasn’t rejoined the squad in training and will try his best to be available when Los Blancos play their Champions League season opener against Olympique Marseille next Tuesday.
Still, Camavinga hasn’t played an official game since April, so Real Madrid’s coaching staff and Camavinga himself will likely take a cautious approach with his recovery. That would increase his chances of staying healthy throughout what’s expected to be a crucial season for the French midfielder.
Camavinga’s imminent return to the squad lists would increase the team’s depth at the midfield line, as he will likely be the first option off the bench whenever Tchouaméni, Valverde or Güler need to miss some games. His versatility and ability to play as a central midfielder but also as the anchor should help him get significant minutes this season.
