Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to bring Sporting Lisbon centre-back Zeno Debast to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils will face competition for his signature.
Debast played under Amorim at Sporting in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, and he has now represented the Portuguese giants on 53 occasions, scoring twice and registering four assists.
The 21-year-old made 96 appearances for Anderlecht ahead of his move to Lisbon, and he is also now a starter for Belgium, starting and finishing each of his country's last six internationals.
According to Fichajes, Man United are huge admirers of Debast, and Amorim is driving the club's pursuit, with a move either in January or next summer believed to be a serious possibility.
The report claims that the Red Devils are lining up an offer of €40m (£34.6m), but the release clause in the defender's contract is €80m (£69.2m), with Sporting therefore in a strong position when it comes to his future.

Man United 'lining up' move for Sporting's Debast
The report claims that Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are also keeping a close eye on Debast, with Sporting unlikely to keep him beyond next summer.
However, Amorim's presence at Old Trafford could be crucial, with the Portuguese said to have built a strong relationship with the defender despite their limited time together in Lisbon.
Man United are now believed to view Debast as a 'priority', but it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to pay close to his release clause, which Sporting could demand due to his strong form.
This season, Debast has made five appearances in all competitions, including four outings in the league, helping Sporting to keep clean sheets in two of their five games in 2025-26.

Could Debast replace Maguire at Old Trafford?
Harry Maguire is expected to leave Man United on a free transfer at the end of the season, with clubs from Saudi Arabia showing an interest in the former Sheffield United youngster.
The Englishman is behind Matthijs de Ligt, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui when it comes to the defensive positions in Amorim's first XI.
Maguire is highly unlikely to leave Man United this month despite links with the Saudi Pro League, but the expectation is that he will move on next summer, so the Red Devils will be lining up a replacement.
