Lainey Wilson is engaged to be married to former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, and that is a good thing because she recently admitted she has ruined a couple of marriages in her day.
But it’s not quite what one might think when they here that. In fact, Wilson is innocent in it all. Instead, AI and internet scammers are to blame.
Folks … especially you married men out there, take note. If Lainey Wilson messages you looking to get something going, it’s not really Lainey Wilson. No matter how much the person on the other end of the message might make you think they are Lainey Wilson … it’s just not Lainey Wilson.
“What I’ve noticed is it’s like a certain age group,” the country star told Theo Von on his ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast. “It’s probably lonely people, whether they are married or not they’re lonely. And they just find the right person. They must try it to a million people to find the right person to actually convince. And they’re asking for money, and they just give them lots of money. Lots of money. And it’s sad.”
And Wilson said she has received angry messages from wives after it all came crashing down.
“They amount of messages I get about … people who think that they are actually in a relationship with me and stuff because somebody’s pretending to be me. It’s really bad. I’ve ruined a couple of marriages on accident and didn’t even mean to. They’re like, ‘My husband of 30 years believes he’s talking to you and this and that and whatever.’”
There’s a lot to process there, but one more public service announcement: Lainey Wilson is not messaging you fellas, and she sure as heck isn’t asking you for money.
Come back to reality.
